$30 DIY Dresser Makeover

My master bedroom makeover is a work in progress, but when I started a couple months ago, there were two things top of the list: a new bed and a new dresser. In my head I knew I wanted something sleek, preferably white with gold accents. After searching high and low I couldn’t find the look I wanted in the price range I needed. That’s where this beautiful idea comes in. I figured if I can’t find it…maybe I could make it.

The white Ikea Hemnes 8-drawer dresser has the right structure and lots of space for less than $300 but didn’t quite fit the decor in my bedroom.

So, I purchased these brushed brass drawer pulls from Amazon. One 10-pack and one 5-pack. Together it came to $28.98.

Using a standard screwdriver, I simply unscrewed the old knobs then screwed in the new pulls using the screw provided. Voila!

The whole thing took me less than 30 minutes. This easy switch of the original drawer knobs transforms it into a totally different, more stylish piece of furniture with little effort.

The best thing about this project is that you change the look of the dresser (or any dresser) by switching the pulls again whenever you want.

Let me know if you give it a try! Remember to tag me so I can see your take on this project.
