Hi and welcome! I’m Alnissa and this is my blog Living with Besos. What does that mean? Well, “besos” is the Spanish word for “kisses”. So, “living with kisses” is my way of encouraging myself and anyone who may be reading to do everything with a little bit of love. This blog is my little section of the internet dedicated to some of my favorite things – food, fashion and taking care of my family and decorating my home.
This blog started as exclusively as a food blog, because I love to eat but I especially love to cook. I learned so much about cooking from my mother, Rosalind but my love for food definitely started with my grandmother, Paulita. My first food memories are tied to being a little girl in her kitchen peeking over the counter fascinated at the way she would make magic out of the ingredients. I asked a lot of questions and snuck a lot of tastes and small bites (I especially loved cheese and cucumbers slices.) They were my favorite times.
More than the food tasting amazing (I’m partial to say that Puerto Rican food is the best food) it was special because she made it with love. I miss her very much, but I can always feel close to her through preparing one of her recipes.
Now, with a home and family of my own, I want to make the same memories for my loved ones. Now, my Grandma was a saint for her time and effort, never doing anything the easy way but like most of you, I am often short on time with a lot on my plate, so I wanted to share my recipes and tips on home decor, fashion and beauty that are impressive but easy and achievable.
So, look around and if you try a recipe or find a decor tip useful let me know! Tag me on Instagram, leave a comment, send an email, a courier pigeon, a smoke signal…whatever necessary! Because I would love you hear from you!
I really hope this blog offers you a little something new. Thanks for stopping by.
Besos,
